image001Coach Lalor-Nielsen names Maura Duggan (class of 2013) Varsity Team Captain for the 2011/2012 Season

Maura is a tremendous player and will lead the team both on and off the field. Coming off a strong season last year we expect a lot from our players and look to Maura to help guide them.

AJennaBelknapSpiritofSportAwardpril 11, 2011: Jenna Belknap was named as a co awardee of the CIF's spring and winter Spirit of Sport award...SOS Awards Winners. Read more on the CIF's website.

March 11, 2011: Congratulations to Jenna Belknap who has been named the 2011 CIF Winter Spirit of Sport Award recipient.  The Spirit of Sport Award recognizes student-athletes who have demonstrated the 16 principles of Pursuing Victory with Honor, operating standards of the CIF, and its 1,500-plus member schools statewide. Winners are also selected based on their involvement in school and community service, and leadership qualities.  Two students, state-wide are nominated per sports season.  Jenna will attend a awards ceremony in San Jose on April 29th.  Kudos to Jenna as this is the first time a PHS athlete has won this award.

CaptainspicforwebpageHead Coach Jen Lalor-Nielsen rounds out the 2011/2012 Varsity team with the addition of two more captains, Emily Faust, senior (center) and Courtney McCandless, junior (right).

Maura (left), Emily and Courtney will provide strength and leadership both on the field and off.     The Poway Titans return 12 players from last year and look forward to another good season and a strong finish.
